This event also serves as a lifeline for individuals experiencing homelessness, struggling families, and veterans seeking support, allowing them to access essentials without barriers or judgment.
Through these monthly giveaways, ANE Foundation distributes thousands of meals and essential items every year, directly supporting the well-being of countless members of the Los Angeles community. It’s a day that reminds us all of the power of unity, compassion, and shared humanity.
In Los Angeles, over 69 % of people experiencing homelessness are unsheltered, meaning they live in tents, vehicles or outdoors, making them especially vulnerable during severe weather.
On rainy days, ANE Foundation steps into action by distributing ponchos, tarps, and arranging temporary hotel stays to help those living outside protect themselves and their belongings. These interventions aim to:
Prevent hypothermia by giving dry protections and shelter
Shield personal items from mold, mildew, and water damage
Provide safe, dry space as an alternative to soggy or flooded tents and RVs
Reduce the risks that accompany storms, such as flooding, structural damage to makeshift shelters, and loss of essential gear
Through these efforts we help preserve dignity, health, and safety for those most at risk when the weather turns harsh.
At the ANE Foundation, we believe that self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Our Self-Care Awareness Program is designed to empower individuals and families facing hardship or homelessness to care for their minds, bodies, and dignity, no matter their circumstances.
Living through crisis or instability often forces people to put their own needs last. The Self-Care Awareness Program teaches both kids and adults the importance of maintaining regular hygiene and self-care routines, even during challenging times. We provide practical tools and education to remind everyone that taking care of yourself is a powerful step toward healing, confidence, and hope.
Through community workshops, outreach events, and care kit distributions, ANE Foundation supplies essential hygiene and personal care items for men, women, and children, including:
Toiletries: Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and more
Sanitary Products: Feminine hygiene supplies and personal wellness items
Self-Care Kits: Brushes, razors, lotion, and other essentials that help restore comfort and confidence
Educational Materials: Tips and resources for maintaining hygiene and wellness even when housing or stability is limited
These small yet significant items help individuals maintain dignity and self worth while preventing health issues and promoting emotional well-being.
Our team and volunteers work closely with community members to share lessons on self-respect, hygiene, and wellness, encouraging a mindset of “I still matter.”
Because even when life is hard, you can still care for yourself and we’re here to help you do it.
By combining compassion with practical support, the Self-Care Awareness Program builds bridges of understanding and restores confidence to those navigating life’s toughest moments. ANE Foundation continues to remind every person that hope begins with self-care, and that they are never alone on the journey.
For the past 10 years, the ANE Foundation Community Thanksgiving Dinner has stood as a beacon of love and hope in the heart of Skid Row, Los Angeles. What began as a simple act of kindness has grown into a cherished community tradition, a day when compassion, connection, and gratitude fill the streets, and no one is left out of the celebration.
Each Thanksgiving, the ANE Foundation opens its arms to the community, serving over 1,000 hot meals to individuals and families facing homelessness, hardship, or loneliness. The event is more than a meal, it’s a moment of belonging. It’s a reminder that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves to be seen, loved, and nourished, body and soul.
The Community Thanksgiving Dinner offers more than just food. Alongside warm, freshly prepared meals, guests receive blankets, clothing, hygiene kits, and essential resources. The things that bring comfort, safety, and a sense of dignity during the colder months. Volunteers and community partners join together to share smiles, serve meals, and offer words of encouragement and kindness.
From the aroma of fried turkey and freshly baked pies to the sound of laughter and heartfelt conversation, the atmosphere is filled with gratitude, unity, and compassion. Every person who walks through is welcomed not as a guest, but as family.
For ten consecutive years, the ANE Foundation has made it its mission to ensure that no one in our community spends Thanksgiving alone or hungry. What makes this event special isn’t just the number of meals served, it’s the love, dignity, and care poured into every detail.
Each plate served represents a story, a life touched, a burden lifted, a moment of hope renewed. And year after year, through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and local partners, the Thanksgiving Dinner continues to grow, proving that kindness truly nourishes the soul.
The ANE Foundation’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner is not just an annual event; it’s a symbol of what’s possible when compassion leads. As we celebrate a decade of giving, we look forward to many more years of service, connection, and shared gratitude building a stronger, more caring Los Angeles, one meal at a time.

At the ANE Foundation, we understand that sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that make the biggest difference. For many individuals and families in Los Angeles, the challenges of homelessness, financial hardship, or living paycheck to paycheck can make even the most basic daily needs difficult to meet.
Through our Gift Card & Gas Card Program, we provide direct, flexible assistance to help people bridge the gap during tough times, ensuring they have access to essential items, transportation, and resources that help them move forward with dignity and hope.
The ANE Foundation distributes a variety of gift cards to those facing hardship, including:
Gas Cards: Helping individuals and families travel to work, school, job interviews, or medical appointments when every dollar counts.
Grocery Store Cards: Providing access to healthy, fresh food and household essentials that can sustain a family through the month.
Retail Gift Cards: Allowing individuals to purchase personal care items, clothing, or other necessities that bring comfort and normalcy.
Restaurant and General Gift Cards: Offering families a chance to enjoy a warm meal together or meet an urgent need in a moment of crisis.
Every card we distribute is more than financial help, it’s a message of compassion, relief, and community support.
We welcome all types of gift cards and gift certificates, including:
Grocery stores
Gas stations
Retail stores
Restaurants
General Visa, Mastercard, and American Express gift cards
Your donation will be matched directly to a family or individual in need, ensuring that your act of kindness makes an immediate and meaningful impact.
Whether it helps someone fill their gas tank to get to work, buy diapers for their child, or simply enjoy a hot meal after days of uncertainty, your gift can change a day, or even a life.
Hard times can happen to anyone. The Gift Card & Gas Card Program offers flexibility and dignity to those we serve, empowering them to make choices that fit their personal needs, rather than receiving a one-size-fits-all solution. It’s about restoring independence, compassion, and hope when people need it most.
Because at the ANE Foundation, we believe that help should always come with heart.
When devastating fires swept through Los Angeles, destroying homes and displacing hundreds of families, the ANE Foundation responded with urgency, compassion, and community spirit. In the midst of chaos, we opened our hearts, and our doors, to those who had lost everything.
At 2016 Bay Street, the ANE Foundation established a 100-person emergency shelter and donation warehouse, providing immediate relief and safety for fire victims. Working hand in hand with local organizations, community groups, and small businesses, we transformed compassion into action, offering a safe space for families to rest, recover, and rebuild.
Within days, our team mobilized to distribute essential supplies to individuals and families affected by the fires. From clothing and blankets to hygiene kits and emergency care items, the ANE Foundation ensured that every person who came through our doors was met with warmth, dignity, and hope.
Beyond emergency shelter, the ANE Foundation provided a range of critical support services, including:
Three hot meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared and served with love.
Laundry days: allowing families to wash and refresh their belongings while maintaining dignity in a difficult time.
Cell phones and communication access: reconnecting survivors with loved ones and vital resources.
Public transportation vouchers: helping families travel safely to work, appointments, or temporary housing.
Ongoing resource support: offering referrals and case assistance as victims began the long process of rebuilding.
Though the fires have passed, the impact continues. The ANE Foundation remains deeply committed to supporting fire survivors. Helping families replace lost essentials, secure stable housing, and restore a sense of normalcy. Every day, we continue to serve those still struggling to recover, offering comfort and practical aid one resource at a time.
The road to recovery is long, but together, we can rebuild lives and restore hope.
We invite you to join us in our ongoing Fire Relief Efforts by donating supplies, funds, or volunteering your time. Every contribution helps families rise from the ashes stronger than before.
